The SVGA used for traditional presentation thought to be age old tech has shown promising comeback in this new Epson Projector. The data image quality is pretty decent & it’s a great video for a data projector. The audio is quite loud & the USB Type-A port gives the connectivity options. The Projector lacks 3d Capabilities & a dedicated Optical zoom feature. But the overall package is compact & easily portable.

Essentials – Priced at $449.99, its clearly an under -$500 model. The projector gives off accurate color detailing, mixture of ports & connectivity supplies coupled with high portability & good quality video. The low resolution however can limit its use. 3300 Lumens, the Epson EX3260 SVGA 3LCD Projector works on 3LCD technology by Epson. While the brightness is not much on today’s terms but it’s enough for a medium sized room.

SVGA – The SVGA resolution (800×600 pixels) with 4:3 aspect ratio which is used in most traditional projectors. While today the projectors are of high resolution models like XGA, WXGA & 1080p. But for budget conscious, SVGA is still a decent option.

Ergonomics – the Epson EX3260 houses a 2-tone color scheme i.e. white with black & measures 3.6×11.9×9.8inches (HWD). The whole package weighs around 5.5pounds & hence truly portable. The company provides a soft carrying case also. There is a lens behind Focus Ring & a slider for manually sliding the horizontal keystone.

The ports are basic but sturdy & the main connection outputs are VGA port, an HDMI port input with 3 RCA plugs (this is for composite video/audio). On the body there is a USB Type-B port for PC connection & to mirror its screen. Also there is a port for USB-Type A.

Image production – the Epson EX3260 SVGA 3LCD Projector can fill a screen of around 70inches(diagonally) from a distance of 6.5 feet. Image is sturdy even on increasing the ambient light. Text quality is good and bright. Color production is bright & very well saturated which is a trademark for LCD type projectors. One of the benefit of LCD projectors are no worries of potentially distracting rainbow effect as shown in DLP projectors.

Audio & Video Quality – As the output is free from any rainbow effect & the Epson EX3260 SVGA 3LCD Projector is at par with video quality. Both contrast & color balance is good. For the audio, there is a 2 watt-in built speaker that gives off loud sound which is enough for a normal small to mid-sized room.

 

Verdict – The Epson EX3260 SVGA 3LCD Projector is a pretty solid projector & the price justifies it. While it lacks to project the 3d Video content & the optical zoom, the great video quality with sturdy built balances the left outs. Overall a great projector with great Audio & highly portable options make it a good buy.
